Your Guide to Blackout Linings

Theyare 100% light proof, and simply attach to the back of your present drapes, and will keep the light out in those long summer days, and let you sleep peacefully. If you already have existing curtains, why not use our blackout linings with your pencil pleat curtains. Simply hook the linings at the rear of your pencil pleat curtains. Linings sometimes have an 1 inch curtain tape at the rear to use for hanging them on to the curtains. As discussed you can only use these linings on pencil pleat curtains, but if you need to use them with your ring top or tab top curtains then simply stitch the lining at the rear and dress your curtains correctly. This technique should be ideal to block the light.
More importantly though we’d always advocate these linings with all ready made curtains just because they significantly enhance the look of the curtains ; colors are bolder and more practical, your curtains drape more fantastically and the blackout lining provides protection to the fabric from great wear and tear from daylight. Standard linings in readymade curtains are awfully thin and simply let light through on most occassions.
Blackout linings are available in packs of two panels and available in ten different sizes. 46 x 48, 46 x 54, 46 x 72, 46 x 90, 66 x 54, 66 x 72, 66 x 90, 90 x 54, 90 x 72, 90 x 90. Usually the curtain panel is about 2 inches shorter in drop then stated so they can’t be seen from the front when attached behind the curtains.
