Trends come and go quickly in modern fashion but there are a select few trends that stay around long enough to become fashion staples. Denim jeans are the most notable trend turned staple in recent decades. Our new closet staple item seems to be a velour tracksuit.

Unlike other trends, shops continue to stock velour tracksuits season to season. Most retailers have designed a velour tracksuit every season for the past few years. This is an age in the fashion world.

Celebrities were the first to bring velour tracksuits into the mainstream. Britney Spears used pink velour tracksuits for her bridesmaids in her wedding to K-Fed. Then the WAGs were spotted styling themselves in an array of different coloured velour tracksuits whilst their other halves were playing in international competitions.

Now of course they are a popular outfit on any high street. They are so liked because they are stylish while being comfortable. It is important however that if you are going to wear a velour tracksuit you buy one that is made out of good quality material. It should not change or lose its shape when you wash it. Also; you do not want the colour to fade during washing. If the material is less than the best the tracksuit will end up looking more chavvy than stylish.

For adults darker colours work best otherwise you may end up a little like mutton dressed as lamb. Pinks, light blue and green are not for the over 20s. Flattering colours include black, brown and navy.

Children however look gorgeous in brightly coloured velour tracksuits. Clothes which are comfy, practical and fashionable are hard to find for young girls. With a velour tracksuit you combine all three. Children like wearing them because they are so easy to pull on and get off before and after swimming and other popular activities.

Loo at different retailers for the right velour tracksuit for you. You will find some are better quality than others are. Retailers which sell other velour clothing will be a good choice. Make sure that you do not get overcharged for the tracksuit, £60 should be the maximum. But if you spend too little you will end up with a tracksuit that disintegrates after one wash.
