We’re all guilty of believing that the New Year will be the perfect time to start saving money, but does it ever happen? Lets face it, we cant always stick to this and money we would have saved soon ends up being spent on unnecessary things we don’t really need. We’ve all been there and done this, but with the credit crunch denting many an individual’s pocket, perhaps its time we gave money saving a second thought.

Something that can be costly, but needs replacing, is guttering, and any new rainwater systems are not the cheapest things in the world to buy. Indeed, guttering is a costly expense, but you can’t get around it. Any homeowner that’s spent over 6 months contemplating replacing their leaky guttering and rainwater systems should make the move and get it replaced one and for all, before the damage is done.

For cost-effective rainwater systems, GRP gutters are some of the most affordable. GRP is a much cheaper alternative to something like copper gutters or cast iron gutters. Naturally, copper gutters and the like are very attractive, but when you simply cant afford them, it’s a case of settling for the next best rainwater system option, which is usually GRP gutters. In fact, many guttering companies are so aware of the rising interest in cheaper guttering materials that they are struggling to cope with demand. Of course there will always be those people that want the best and won’t settle for anything less, in which case they will either settle for cast iron or copper gutters.

Deciding on your new guttering isn’t easy, but here is another good option to think about. You could always get GRP gutters installed and then save up for replacing these with cast iron or copper gutters in a few years time. Naturally, you’re not going to have the GRP ones for long, but it is a short term solution to leaky guttering and solves the cash shortage problem. Many homeowners are doing this and finding that they it is worth it on the long run when they have enough money saved up to buy the guttering that looks more visually appealing.
