Remodeling A Young Kid’s Bedroom
Monday, November 23, 2009 16:12Many children have a favorite character, theme, or color in this new and up to date televised world. So, to make most children happy it is evident that now, in this time, children are wanting themed toys, clothes, and now even bedrooms. To create a themed bedroom it takes a little bit of work, but it can be a do it yourself project. Your local hardware stores such as Home Depot or Lowes can assist you in the remodeling department and with some of the basic decorations. Accents for the room such as decorative shelving or a cool new kids locker will turn any boring room into a cool new hangout spot for your child.
A basic renovation for a room can involve the walls. Basic white walls can be turned into amazing works of art when mom and dad are done changing it up. Walls can be painted with coordinating colors or they can have wallpaper with themed cartoon to match the general idea for the room. Either way, each plan takes a little bit of work and planning beforehand. Planning a theme can be enjoyable and very simple. Just ask your child who their favorite character is and you should get a reply such as Spongebob Squarepants or Toy Story. Getting this kind of response will make it more easy on you to get the job done.
Start with a list of what has to be done first. This would involve painting or wallpaper or any kind of flooring change. There are also things that you can purchase called wall stickers. Many big name character companies provide these for purchase and they are usually just stickers of characters that can be attached to the wall and the peeled right back off. These are easy decorations that do not make a mess. These stickers can be purchased almost anywhere and it’s a great economical choice if a complete remodel is out of the question.
After the dirty jobs are complete it is time to choose features such as sheets, curtains, lamps, and etcetera. These big name themes will be more simple to find but other kinds will be more difficult. If this occurs with your child’s choice, then it may be time to decide on matching colors that will tie together with the character theme. If it comes to this your economic decisions will be a lot easier as well. This will also be easier to locate in stores because every store offers fabrics in almost every color accessible.
Remodeling any room can be a lot of hard work, but a child’s room can be a lot of fun. From choosing the colors and character choices to seeing the look on your son or daughter’s faces when you are done is a completely priceless moment. Happy children are a gift and some parents will do anything to have that special opportunity. Many parents will try very hard to please their children and this kind of project is a great way to give your kids the perfect room that they have never had the chance to take part in.
