When Oriental Rug Care cleans your rug we use the highly esteemed Aserhelian method. This technique will leave your rug the cleanest it possibly can be.

Your rug is inspected for damages or stains before we begin the cleaning process. Dusting is the first step of the cleaning process in which the technician will remove all loose dust, sand and other particulates from the rug. This is done to both the front and back of the rug. After a complete Dusting of your rug we pre-treat any stains or spots to guarantee a perfect cleaning. The next stage is to test for color bleeding. If it is discovered that the rug color will “bleed”, it is then treated with a dye blocker to prevent the mixing of color.

The next step in our process is to hand wash the rug in the Washing station. At Oriental Rug Care, each and every rug is washed by hand. We never use hot water or steam to wash the rugs or harsh chemicals! The proper way of hand cleaning any Oriental rug is to use clean cold water with a gentle cleaning products, never chemicals. After washing the rug, it is flushed and rinsed repeatably with clear filtered water to be sure all product is removed.

The rug is now ready for the drying process.The clean rug is then run through rollers that extracts up to 80 percent of the moisture in the rug. The rug is then hung to naturally dry with proper ventilation and fans to keep the air moving around the rug. If the fringes are worn or damaged, our full time restoration specialist will re-weave or replace the fringe, restoring the rug to its original beauty.

The last step is grooming the fringes.We carefully brush them out leaving a soft, clean finish.After the rug is complete, the rug will be wrapped in paper, ready for delivery.
