Recycled, processed and compacted sawdust are what wood pellets are made of and are the fuel source used in wood pellet stoves. They are a byproduct of saw milling and other types of wood transformation processing.

They are extremely dense and have a low humidity content of about 10%, which allows them to burn with very high combustion efficiency. They are made from recycled, compacted and processed sawdust and their extreme density and low humidity content, about 10%, enables them to burn with very high combustion efficiency.

Their extreme density also helps with compact storage and transportation over long distances. They can actually be “blown” from the transport vehicle directly to the customer’s storage bunker or silo on their property.

Since the price of heating with fossil fuels has continued to rise there has been quite a bit of research done seeking reliable sources of energy, other than non-renewable energy such as fossil fuels. There has been an increase in the number of wood pellet fuel stoves being produced and sold, as well as the wood pellet stoves .

There are effective substitutes for non-renewable energy sources, including bio fuels that are made from biodegradable material such as manure and plants. They are both useful and plentiful, and wood pellets are produced by an activity that involves the cutting and/or transforming of wood.

Many of the characteristics of pellets, including low humidity content and higher density, allows them to be automatically used in clean burning heating appliances. Since the pellets are considered biomass they are environmentally friendly, releasing less emissions and ashes.

As renewable material the wood pellet offers the benefit of a continuous energy supply. There is no deliberate cutting down of trees in order to produce them. Since the pellets are actually considered waste materials, utilizing them as an energy source lessens the problem of waste and waste disposal.

With the increase in the cost of operating heating devices that use fossil fuel, it is only natural that the availability of alternative devices and fuel sources should increase.

The pellet stove has become increasingly popular as an alternative to the traditional wood burning stoves. Stoves that are made to specifically use whitfield pellet stove as their fuel source do have advantages over the more traditional models of wood pellet stoves and heating devices.

While they look very similar to the older wood fireplaces and stoves, these models operate by microprocessor controls, ensuring a clean and efficient heat source.
